What makes our workshops different?

Rather than treating climate change as a standalone topic, the workshop explores how it connects across subjects such as science, social studies, economics, literature, and more, helping educators see climate education as something that can live throughout the curriculum.

The workshop emphasizes practical discussion, flexible implementation, and classroom-ready resources designed to support educators with different experience levels, subjects, and school contexts.

This workshop is completely free, fully virtual, and designed to fit into busy educator schedules. In just a few hours, participants gain practical strategies and confidence to begin integrating interdisciplinary climate education without requiring long-term commitments or major curriculum changes.

What to Expect from the Workshop

Who are our workshops for?

Our workshops are designed for elementary and middle school educators, school staff, and district leaders who are interested in integrating climate education across subjects in accessible and practical ways.

Who leads the workshop?

Our workshops are facilitated in a hybrid professional/student led model. Student organizers from Climate in Every Classroom who have been trained in interdisciplinary climate education, curriculum design, and workshop facilitation by Subject to Climate and professionals from the IL climate hub and Subject to Climate. . The program is designed and developed with guidance from educators and climate education advocates to ensure accuracy, relevance, and classroom applicability.

Time commitment

The workshop is fully virtual and typically lasts a few hours, combining interactive discussion, examples of interdisciplinary approaches, and reflection on classroom implementation with a goal of instilling confidence in teaching climate education to teachers. 

What do educators receive?

Along with the workshop experience, each educator recieves a curated bundle of climate education resources based on their subject, grade level, and preferences they can easily adapt to their own classrooms and subject areas.
